IF - Slither

Been looking off and on at Illustration Friday and decided to take a turn. This is my attempt at slither. Subconsciously I think I am preparing myself to get to the nitty gritty in Anansi. Just got six illustrations to do and they are all roughly (very roughly) sketched, then I can start to ink out and paint. Taking my mum's advise I wrote down the brushes I used for this, as I can never remember which brushes I used for what.

On the embroidery design front, (yes I have not stopped doing that) I was working on the alphabet I started eons ago and I am at T in the capitals but I am not happy with it, so I am not sure it will make the light of day :( Maybe if I got the common ones and see how they work together there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

A nice sunny day today and this week I think will be my last week doing major garden work so I hope I will be sit still and do some more art very soon.

Cheers

A commission gone wrong :( or :)

Every cloud has a silver lining. Sometimes it's hard to see, other times it's not. Early this year I did some work for a new client who half-way through the project disappeared. On the one hand I am not happy that the person just up and left me in the lurk with no payment, but on the other hand it was a relief as this client was very difficult to please. So after more than 2 months of unanswered emails and no payments, (here's the silver lining) I pulled up my art and began to change them to suit me. The result is that while I am out of pocket in a way, I am now very happy with the end line art :D . This digital stamp will be out later this week in mygrafico.
Cheers

A cupcake please for free :)

This is one the extra cupcakes I baked the other day. Yup there were a bit long in getting online but they are finally here. This freebie treat can be found here. The zip contains both the coloured version and the line art / digital stamp.

Bon appetit.

A taste of something sweet

I finally finished drawing my cupcakes :) now I need to just save them and put them up lol. However at the moment I am still garden focused and being like a jack in the box since I really wish to be outside digging in the soil and planting Dahlias and going and getting the three apple trees I saw yesterday in a nursery. ... but back to art . Since I got a baker's dozen, I will put a cupcake or two as a freebie in the very near future. The line art / digital stamp version of the set is also finished and is just waiting for me to save them too as single files and upload.
Hope you have a good day :)

Nature's Child 2 and yahoo freebie

Morning :), I am slowly getting the natures child series drawn - sort of like molasses moving up a hill. It's not that I don't like them, I love them it is just that life and spring (aka garden chores) are in making their presence known. Anyone know about coniferous trees? Pines, Junipers and the like- mine are not happy this year :( they are budding and then the buds are drying out. Maybe I need to water them . Oh well ...
I drew a second Nature's Child digital stamp / line art and it is now up at mygrafico. When I have the whole series (about 8 in total) I will put them up on my site, until then I will release the single digi stamp version at MG.
A really good book arrived in the mail last week "Illuminated Letters" and I wanted but did not have the time to do a MUM using on of the techniques as this month freebie for my yahoo group but since time was a problem I did a Nature's Child.
Until next time :)
