A friend suggested I do some snails for some stamps, which is rather cool as I have illustrated 2 children's books where the snails were the stars, even though in one they were more like the main course :)
Snails are rather interesting creatures when the weather is warm enough (usually summer) they swarm out onto the road here and you can't walk without hearing a crunch and crack and if you listen very carefully "ArGgggggh...."
Hope you have a good Sunday.
Cheers
P.S
I had prepared this for Sophia's Sunday Sketches ( the triple S); however, it is canceled this week due to a family emergency. If you are a SSer take a mo and send her a little support. Sophia we are crossing out fingers, toes and antennae for your dad.

A little whimsy for Wednesdays
Okay it is not as whimiscal as my daughter's bird - for a 5 year old she is wonderful with colours :) I am attempting to make an "emo" little girl - like the ones I draw. All I can say is that this is attempt number one. While doing this I discovered 1. have no idea how to really add the hair - I did the front and then had bald spots in the back :)-2. there is a reason why a number of these things are low to the ground or sitting, and 3. shapes and proportions are important. So my learning experiment is for whimsical Wednesdays , come on by enter your whimsy and see the other artists'.
cheers.
p.s. yes they are lego blocks supporting her.
p.p.s no my son has not discovered them missing as yet :)
ppps material used is white modeling clay with acrylic colour added to give it colour.

This and that on Sunday
the bird
the mouse
cutwork butterflies and flowers
A family crafty morning :) The bird and mouse were made with modeling clay (got tons of the stuff) by daughter dear and darling son and a bit of help from mum :) The cut work is something I did last night and this morning - testing out some designs I created. I actually really like the doing cutwork designs and the actual thing, but it seems to have caused my finger to get a serious callus :( and that is only from doing it a couple of hours ( I discovered paper cutwork last week lol)The cut work is my entry to Sophia's Sunday Sketches. If you got a moment pop by there and check out the other fantastic artist who take part in SS.
