Rainbow painting

ACEO - rainbow painting

I just felt like painting and had no real idea of what do so I just had a little fun and experiment with Wicked Wednesday's topic - over the rainbow.

Thinking of Easter

Just thinking of Easter and preparing and playing with line art which will eventually end up as digital stamps. Here is one which at present a little boy who is at present an ACEO :)  He is coloured with yummy prismapencils blended with turpentine. During the colouring I had to repeat to myself one of the Jane Davenport's mantra - Trust the mess - as the egg was not doing what it was supposed to. In the end it came out okay and I found a use for the newspaper's black ink that likes to come off on my fingers :)
Hope you have a great day :)

Preparing a portfolio on a Sunday

One of things I have had on my to do list for at least 2 years now, which I hope to do over the next couple of weeks is to create an online portfolio. Here is a little Photoshop illustration I did yesterday and in the wee hours of this morning, which I am thinking of using, and yes it is aiming at children's book illustrations.
Below is last week's sketch completed. It was originally conceived for Mr. T's Creative Tuesday  but was not finished in time - it is meant to be a very partial view of a mermaid.
Hope you have a great Sunday and pop by Sophia's Sunday Sketches to see what the others are up to.
hugs.

Creative Tuesday - MISTLETOE

For Creative Tuesday I took the black and white snowman one step further and added some colour, some glitter, some 3 d effect (not sure if that was a good idea) and some mistletoe. To me he sort of looks like some benign nebulous being :) And if you look real close you will see he is wearing it like a mistletoe corsage :)
Hope you all have a great Tuesday.
Cheers
oh it would be really cool if I had some Marchy Uchida Snow Marker. Has any one ever tried it? I think that would have worked better than the glitter- oh well that is life :)

Snowman on a snowy night

At Wicked Wednesday this week the theme is Black and White, so I thought  sheep in the dark - seeing only the whites of their eyes and bit of wool - if the sheep are nice clean non-romping around the bush and neighbourhood sheep aka not my sheep. So I sat and look at a 2.5x3.5 inch black piece of card, and looked and looked really hard until my latent secrete desire for snow (which has not as yet come this winter) emerged and I began to see the outlines of a snowman on a dark snowy winter's night.
White colour pencil on black card.
Hope you are all keeping warm.
hugs.

AEDM - day 10 - Angelscape 3

Phew I did something today. I was not sure it was getting anywhere and somehow it looks ..well not very happy or peaceful. The gold this time seemed to have turned out better in the photo than the real thing. This ACEO is with watercolours and gold watercolour pencil. Off now to look after the sheep. I would like to do at least two more angelscapes to have a nice set, but I feel the pull of the wool - I obviously have to much blood in me and need to be let out with some jabs of the needle. Hope you are having a great day.
Cheers

No name angel on a Sunday

Ahh yesterday was a day of drudge all art impulses and desires where put on hold to do the other necessary things in life. However before I went to bed I did a little ACEO background and then this morning did this little angel on it.  It looks rather anatomical to me LOL .
Well so here's my day 5 and 6 of Art Every Day for a month and my Sunday Sketches entry.
Hope all are having a great day. The sun is shining here :)
And yup this is an ACEO - watercolour, and acrylic with a touch of gold pen.
Cheers

Alice in wonderland - mushroom time

Today is day 4 of Art every day for a month and I decided to do this week's  Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge which is Alice in wonder land.   So if you got a moment pop these two wonderful challenges as see what every one else is up to.  The colours came out a bit more muted than I would have likes. I think  that is because I used white acrylic paint and water with the watercolour pencils.
Hope you have an artsy day.
Cheers

Creative Tuesday's "Autumn" fae

The leaves have changed all around us now, all golden, with hints of red and some dark green, and the sky the most gorgeous shade of blue with what looks like purple, pink and grey mixed in the day. It is also the time for Autumn's magical creatures and here's one for Creative Tuesday.
So pop on by Creative Tuesday  and  by Mr. Toast's and find what  the other CTers interpreted the Autumn theme.

ACT vs ACEO thoughts

Here's a little fella I have created for an ATC swap. He was created a whopping 9 times! Yeah don't ask it was a bit much for me and rather a challenge as the ATC swap is rather crafty- give me paper, and paint and a little glitter - super: give me some ribbon and stuff - yikes it takes a day to do the thing :)

On the ATC front I think I will open and esty store with them and brave the highs and lows of shoppers and the post office. However, I have been wondering what to call my stuff. I figure if I draw it all on paper with my pencil then paint etc it would be and ACEO , but what happens when I use line art  created on the  computer (and I sell this line art as art stamps) then print the line art  and colour it by hand?  While it might be a one of a kind, it sort of isn't. Can it still be called ACEO or does it just become ATC, as it is not really a print either. Any thought on this would be great because it would effect the price of the thing. Another point to ponder in this is the fact that I sell the line art stamps( digital stamps), so others too can create something with the same line art.

BearFae on a Sunday

A little whimsical ACEO for Sunday Sketches.  Watercolour pencil and a tab of colour pencils on watercolour paper.

Summer seems to be over, the kids are back in school and we are all down with our first back to school cold.
Hope you all are well and pop by our darling Sohphia's blog and see what the SS artist have thought up this week.
Cheers

A Moon On Creative Tuesday

Mr Toast's Creative Tuesday Theme this week is Moon. So for it I experiemented with printed words on paper and then a drawing on top. I did not get the effect that I wanted I think because I used mainly water colour pencils and then colour pencils,- it might work better with acrylics but I am to lazy at the moment to dig them out :)
The history of the ACEO is that this is one of the dress rehersals for the real Hey Diddle Diddle and the cow did not make it over the moon. She blamed it on the moon not being full and hence her judgement, persepective, angle and speed were off.
Hope you all have a great Tuesday and pop by Mr Toast's to see what the other artist have done this Creative Tuesday.
Cheers :)

Waiting on an egg on Paint Party Friday

ATC or ACEO? That is the question. One is meant only to be trade the other can be sold.  In the meanwhile I will stuff it in a drawer. In the background (as some wondered) are two more birds (peacocks) with there eggs and some palm trees of sorts.  Yup they are really small. The picture shown here is the actual size of the illustration- 2.5x3.5inches.
Painted with watercolour pencil and water, colour pencil, and white gel pen ,on watercolour paper, backed with card.
Hope you have a great Friday and pop by the Paint Party Friday  and see other artists fab paintings :)
Cheers
